On the eve of arguably the most historical moment in New Orleans sports - the Saints hosting the NFC Championship game against the Minnesota Vikings, news has just came out about Li'l Wayne (a New Orleans native son) is predicting that the Saints will lose on Sunday against the Vikings. This was in Saturday's (1-23-10) The Times-Picayune ....here is the link: http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/2010/01/lil_wayne_says_hes _cheering_fo.html... Read More
As I was writing my research paper the other night, emotions are in as well. For the past months, I have gone though a lot. I went through depression. I was so desperate, trying to bring back what I have lost. Sad to say though, I did not succeed. But today, whatever emotions I have is more of the feeling of finally, I am over that certain period in my life. Finally, I have let go of my painful past. I realized that whatever I do, if things are just really not meant or you, it won'... Read More

This is a video I made over a year ago. It has helped a number of families.
Acceptable Deviance is Destroying Us: Acceptable deviance is a point that falls short of what is expected, yet is still allowed. Unfortunately, we have taken acceptable deviation to whole new extremes. In a reasonable light, acceptable deviation covers the idea that not everyone can do things the same or as well as others. Just because one person can hit the bulls eye every single time, doesn't mean that every average person should be expected to, right? Sadly, it's gone to a deep dark l... Read More
If the interenet is an ocean, then we are all the fish. Who are the fishermen, the advertisers are. And we need to watch out for them. Sadly, the internet is a jungle of corruption, scams, and outright lies. You can find anything you want on the internet, but it could cost you more than just a few dollars. I could cost you your identity, your financial future, and even your life. You are bombarded by ads everywhere you go, even where you are reading this. What's worse is that they wil... Read More
My son has become a pocket gopher. I'm already wrought with worry because he's underweight and we need to get some pounds on him. He's not an overly picky eater, but he's developed a serious habit. He stores food in his cheeks and not just a little of it. When his dish is empty he shows it to me with pride and I commend him. Then it's off to play. But not so fast. I have to make him sit back down and finish the bulging mouthful he has. On a couple of occasions I have found him playin... Read More
Autism: Public Meltdown I want to tell you about something that happened in the midst of moving to our new place. We loaded up everyones vehicles for our first trip. The volunteers were ready to go. Denver and I stopped at a gas station for something to drink and I offered Denver the chance to pick a donut. He felt pretty good about that and started looking over what they had to offer. Then frustration set in. He didn't feel that he could make a choice. He felt overwhelmed. No doub... Read More

The Consumer Protection Predatory Lending Act is one I hope to see pass here in Wisconsin. I think quick loan stores are a financial trap out of control across the country. Interest rates are so high on these loans that you have to pay enormous ammounts to clear the way to the principal. Take my situation for example. I didn't just go out and get this loan without taking anything into consideration. I did my math and planned out when I could pay off the 600 dollar title loan I got fro... Read More
Heres the full report released by the New Orleans AP. NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin says the old Six Flags site in eastern New Orleans will reopen under a deal involving Southern Star Amusements and the parent company of the Nickelodeon network. The following is from the Lafayette Advertiser published August 9, 1879. RAILROAD GOSSIP Col. Adams, President of the La. Western Railroad, was in our town last Saturday. He was here in the interest of his road, and, it was rumored on the streets, for the purpose of locating the depot at this place. We could not learn whether or not an agreement was arrived at. We learned that there was a strike among the workmen on the railroad at Lake Charles a few days ago, but owi... Read More
With more of our look at Jefferson Street in 1959, let's examine the 400 block. Facing southwest on the even numbered side, as we step across Garfield and are now right in front of United Finance Corporation of Lafayette followed by Guillot's Smart Fashions at 402 Jefferson. Right across the street is Montgomery Ward & Company, which occupies 401, 403 and 405 Jefferson. My most vivid memory of being there as a child is that creepy old elevator. Anybody who was there will k... Read More
Rayne looks like they may receive a Water Park but the project itself is still in the early stages. I'm not completely sure it will ever actually get done. I'd like to know if any of you out there have any more information on it. I hope the water park is coming that would be awesome! I found this story on Raynetoday.com J. Anfenson-Comeau ~ LSN Staff Writer A proposed waterpark in Rayne is “definitely going to happen,” Rayne Mayor Jim Petitjean told Euni... Read More
We're continuing our tour of Jefferson St. in 1959. We're in front of the Evangeline Hotel with it's hotel lounge, coffee shop, barber shop cigar stand, and everything you'd expect to find in a full service hotel. The Evangeline also serves as headquarters for the Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, Beavers Club and Optimist Club. So let's move on shall we? Next on the list is 310 Jefferson which houses the offices of Western Union. In 1983 it would become the... Read More
