This past August I turned 59.  The number 59 was a bit daunting to me, I suppose because I could see 60 looming on the horizon. So, I decided to embrace this year, face it head on and invite you, my friends, along for the celebration.

Throughout my life there have been periods of trauma. There were times, when I felt the most despair, that I prayed for just an ordinary day. No major catastrophe, illness, injury or death of a loved one. Just the peace and calmness of an ordinary day, which, by it's own existence becomes an extraordinary day.

Now my days are full of ordinary, and I am embracing this time in my life.

Today, I am launching this new blog called “Celebrating the Joy of Ordinary Days.". Together we will share highs and lows, laughter and tears, wisdom and silliness, but more importantly, we will discover the joy to be found in each day.

So, come with me on this journey. Let's travel the next year together and with your help my year of 59 will be just fine!

What is your joy today?

CCabot, my 40th birthday was this past Sunday.  You know what I did, I stayed at home, watched the Saints game (unfortunately they lost), relaxed at home and spent with my family for the first time in at least over a decade. I did not go out or anything.  But to be able to actually spend my birhtday at home, was very good.  But I do plan to do a few things down the road though.

I can relate.

We all need to slow down and smell the roses. Ordinary blessings are everywhere if we just open our eyes.
