John McCain is out of touch on economy

How is it John McCain can get away with saying the economy is fine one day, and the next day, after the financial markets are about to collapse, say the head of the "FEC" (which is what he actually said), err, the SEC, needs to be fired and there needs to be more oversight of Wall Street (more government regulation.

It's obvious the old man is losing his memory and sense.

At least the old man has honor and character. He's not out there telling lies, such as he's going to give everybody universal health care, lower everybody's taxes and fix wall street. Everybody knows we can't afford to do everything he claims he's gonna do.

Well, I think that McCain is a little bit out of touch with reality on a lot of topics.  But I think that Palin is far worse.  I wonder how that "Troopergate" investigation is coming along?

There's only one person mentioned on this thread that's out of touch, and that's somebody named Spawn.

I know this: McCain isn't aggressive enough against Obama. My goodness, Obama is defenseless on the economy, and all McCain keeps repeating is Obama is going to raise your taxes, and on cue, Obama retorts that he's going to lower our taxes. Why won't McCain tell it like it is: Obama can't do everything he promises without raising taxes. Obama is a typical tax and spend liberal. That's all McCain has to say.

I don't wanna vote for McCain, but I will, because I can't vote for Obama.

"It's obvious the old man is losing his memory and sense."

This was never more obvious than during the debate Tuesday night. He couldn't even remember Barack Obama's name after all these months of running against him in a very contentious campaign! He actually called Obama "that one". Unbelievable.

He also forgot the name of the young man he was addressing when he said "You probably don't know about Frannie and Freddie" even thought the college-aged man had just asked him about mortgages and the economic crisis. If McCain was trying to sound older and wiser, he came off just sounding old.

What is more unbelievable is that Senator Obama has the audacity to call Senator McCain by his first name.  This is a Veteran and a Senator, and should be referred to with respect.

Forgetting a name one thing, thinking you are at the level of another far superior to you and calling them by their first name another.

Taxes alone will be my determining factor in my vote.  For side by side comparisons go to: http://money.cnn.com/news/specials/election/2008/index.html

The thing is:  Obama is out of touch with everything!!!  And what he knows, he lies about.  Sure, McCain was not as eloquent as Obama, but in the end, I think he's a much safer bet than the rookie who pretends to know everything but doesn't have a clue.  Plus, McCain has always served our nation with integrity and was a POW.  What has Obama done for our nation except raise taxes and get political backing from questionable characters.....WOW how 'bout them liberals???!!!

If Sen. McCain (are you happy now) was worried about being called John, which is his name, he could have called Sen. Obama, Barack. You see, it wasn't disrespect, it's called being personal.

It's Sen. Obama who should be indignant with all of the names he is called by the Right Wing, trying to link him to Osama and Saddam Huessin, and who knows what other names behind closed doors.

Using taxes as a basis on who you vote for is not a bad idea. Get rid of the loopholes for the rich and make them pay their fair share. You can't agree that its fair for a rich person to pay 20 percent or less in capital gains taxes while the same rich person's landscaper is paying upwards of 40 to 60 percent of his income in state and federal income taxes, not to mention health care costs and outrageous sales taxes (which by the way most large corporations skirt because of tax incentives).

It's time for a different approach. It's time for change. Needed change.
